At Kalpavriksha Academy, we offer a wide range of personalized academic and therapeutic services for children from Nursery to Grade 12. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support the unique learning and developmental needs of children with special needs—focusing on skill-building, independence, and confidence.

Academic Programs

We follow a structured yet flexible curriculum across levels:

  • Nursery, LKG & UKG: Foundational learning through play-based, multisensory methods. Focus on language, number concepts, social skills, and readiness skills.
  • Grades 1 to 8: Concept-based learning in English, Math, Science, EVS, and functional academics tailored to individual pace and ability.
  • Grades 9 to 12: Academic support aligned with NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) for secondary and senior secondary levels. Individualized plans ensure continued learning and personal growth.

Early Intervention Program (Ages 2–6)

Early support makes a big difference. Our Early Intervention team offers:

Empowering Learning Through NIOS OBE Framework

At Kalpavriksha Academy, we follow the NIOS Open Basic Education (OBE) program to provide flexible, inclusive, and individualized learning pathways for children with diverse needs. The curriculum is designed to focus on foundational literacy, numeracy, life skills, and functional academics, enabling learners to develop at their own pace in a stress-free environment.

What is NIOS OBE?

NIOS OBE offers education at three levels:

  • Level A (Equivalent to Grades 1–3)
  • Level B (Equivalent to Grades 4–5)
  • Level C (Equivalent to Grades 6–8)

This program is ideal for children who may need more time and individualized instruction, allowing them to transition smoothly through stages of learning with confidence.

Level A (Grades 1–3)

  • Language (English and/or Mother Tongue)
  • Mathematics (Basic Numeracy and Concepts)
  • Environmental Science (Myself, Family, Surroundings)
  • Basics of Computer
  • Creative Arts and Craft
  • Health and Hygiene

Level B (Grades 4–5)

Computer Literacy & Computer Lab

At Kalpavriksha Academy, we believe digital literacy is a life skill. Our structured Computer Education Program is woven into the curriculum from the early years and gradually advances through the grades.

Computer Literacy Includes:

  • Basic Computer Skills: Parts of a computer, turning on/off, using a mouse and keyboard
  • Typing Skills and use of word processors
  • Internet Safety and Responsible Use

Computer Lab Features:

  • Child-friendly workstations
  • Accessible equipment for children with physical challenges

NIOS Secondary and Senior Secondary Programs

Flexible, Recognized & Inclusive Education for Holistic Growth

At Kalpavriksha Academy, we offer structured academic guidance and support for students enrolled in the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) at the Secondary (Class 10 equivalent) and Senior Secondary (Class 12 equivalent) levels. These programs are ideal for learners with special needs, slow learners, or those who require alternative learning environments that are stress-free and flexible.

Secondary Level (Class 10 Equivalent)

Eligibility:

  • Learners who have completed Class 8 or NIOS OBE Level C or equivalent
  • Minimum age: 14 years

Subject Choices:

Students must select at least 5 subjects (including one language), and may take up to 7 subjects in total.

Senior Secondary Level (Class 12 Equivalent)

Eligibility:

  • Learners who have passed Class 10/Secondary from a recognized board
  • Minimum age: 15 years

Subject Choices:

Students must select at least 5 subjects, with one language and a combination of academic or vocational subjects.

Exam Pattern and Assessment

Mode of Examination:

  • Public Examinations are held twice a year (April and October)
  • Students can appear for exams on-demand in some subjects when ready
  • Option for online examination in select centers and subjects

Assessment Components:

  • Theory Papers: Usually 80 or 100 marks (subject-dependent)
  • Practical Exams: For science, computer, home science, painting, etc. (20 or 30 marks)
  • Internal Assessments: TMA (Tutor Marked Assignments) to enhance understanding and improve scores (compulsory in many cases)
